El Centro Regional de Información sobre Desastres (CRID) es una iniciativa patrocinada por seis organizaciones que decidieron mancomunar esfuerzos para asegurar la recopilación y diseminación de información disponible sobre el tema de desastres en América Latina y el Caribe.

CIMH - Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology [ING]

The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) is a training and research organisation formed by the amalgamation of the Caribbean Meteorological Institute (CMI) and Caribbean Operational Hydrological Institute (COHI). The Caribbean Meteorological Institute was established in 1967 by the member states of the Caribbean Meteorological Organisation (CMO) while the Caribbean Operational Hydrological Institute (COHI) was established in 1982.

CDEMA - Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency [ING]

CDEMA (formerly known as CDERA) will fully embrace the principles and practice of Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) which is an integrated and proactive approach to disaster management. CDM seeks to reduce the risk and loss associated with natural and technological hazards and the effects of climate change to enhance regional sustainable development.

CARDIN - Caribbean Disaster Information Network [ING]

CARDIN, in collaboration with its partners, seeks to provide a new and dynamic approach to accessing and disseminating disaster related information in a manner that adequately prepares and minimizes the effect of disasters in the Caribbean Region. This will be achieved through the collection, indexing and dissemination of disaster information to produce a comprehensive database which encompasses the English, French, Spanish and Dutch speaking Caribbean.

CEPREDENAC - Centro de Coordinación para la prevención de los Desastres Naturales en América Central

CEPREDENAC es un centro de coordinación para fortalecer las capacidades de la región y reducir la vulnerabilidad a los efectos de este fenómeno.

INSMET - Instituto Nacional de Meteorología, Cuba

La Misión principal del Instituto de Meteorología es suministrar información meteorológica y climática autorizada, confiable y oportuna sobre el estado y comportamiento futuro de la atmósfera. Esta información está dirigida a velar por la seguridad de la vida humana y a reducir las pérdidas de bienes materiales ante desastres naturales de origen meteorológico, contribuyendo directamente al bienestar de la comunidad y al desarrollo sostenible.

ACS - AEC Asociación de Estados del Caribe

Los objetivos de la AEC están contenidos en el Convenio Constitutivo y se basan en lo siguiente: el fortalecimiento de la cooperación regional y del proceso de integración, con el propósito de crear un espacio económico ampliado en la región; preservar la integridad medioambiental del Mar Caribe, considerado como patrimonio común de los pueblos de la región; y promover el desarrollo sostenible del Gran Caribe. Sus áreas focales son en la actualidad el comercio, el transporte, el turismo sustentable y los desastres naturales.

PNUD - BCPR / Dirección para la Prevención de Crisis y la Recuperación

La Dirección para la Prevención de Crisis y la Recuperación (BCPR) trabaja en todo el mundo para reestablecer la calidad de vida de hombres, mujeres, niños y niñas que han sufrido los efectos devastadores de los desastres naturales o de los conflictos violentos. Operando a través de más de 50 oficinas del PNUD en el mundo, la dirección constituye un puente entre los organismos humanitarios que se ocupan de las necesidades inmediatas y las agencias que promueven el desarrollo una vez culminada la etapa de recuperación.

Centro Regional PNUD Panamá

En el año 2009 la Oficina Regional para América Latina y el Caribe (RBLAC) y el BCPR han creado un equipo conjunto de expertos para el apoyo a oficinas de país del PNUD en el ámbito de la prevención de crisis y recuperación. The Climate Institute [ING]

The Climate Institute has been in a unique position to inform key decision-makers, heighten international awareness of climate change, and identify practical ways of achieving significant emissions reductions.
